Q: I noticed that the Daylight® Advanced contains bakuchiol and I’ve read it is a plant-based alternative to retinol, is this true?

A: Yes! Bakuchiol is an excellent plant-based alternative to retinol. Studies have shown that bakuchiol not only performs as well, if not better than traditionally used retinol but is also much less irritating and tolerated by those with sensitive skin types. Despite having the same skin benefits as retinol, bakuchiol has a very different mechanism of action and is the choice of many who prefer to avoid retinol due to safety concerns.



Q: Does Daylight® Advanced contain Dimethicone or any silicone ingredients?

A: No, Daylight® Advanced does not contain dimethicone or silicone ingredients. Most skincare companies include silicone-based ingredients in their skincare formulations to provide shine to the skin, essentially "faking a natural glow." Daylight® Advanced achieves this natural glow without silicone ingredients because of its efficacious levels of active ingredients, including azelaic acid, bakuchiol, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and organic plant oils, none of which sit on top of the skin as barrier-forming ingredients. All of our nourishing ingredients are designed to be readily available to the skin.



Q: Should a patch test be performed before using Daylight® Advanced?

A: Daylight® Advanced was formulated to be great for all skin types. However, it is always recommended to conduct a patch test before using any new skincare product. To conduct a patch test, apply a small amount of product behind the ear. Leave the product on for 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly. If you experience no discomfort or other adverse reactions, use Daylight® Advanced as directed. If you experience any swelling, blistering, or redness that doesn’t abate after 15 minutes, discontinue use.
